Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Dermatology Medical Assistant to join our team and provide exceptional clinical and scribe support in a fast-paced dermatology practice. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in dermatologic procedures, patient care, and electronic medical records. You will work closely with our dermatologists and clinical team to ensure efficient documentation, smooth patient flow, and an outstanding patient experience.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and educate patients for appointments and procedures, explaining treatment options and post-care instructions.
- Assist providers during medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology procedures.
- Serve as a medical scribe during patient visits, accurately documenting provider notes, diagnoses, and treatment plans in Modernizing Medicine (EMA).
- Perform clinical duties such as taking medical histories, recording vital signs, and preparing exam and procedure rooms.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in the EMR system.
- Provide excellent patient care by addressing questions, concerns, and post-visit instructions.
- Ensure exam rooms and instruments are properly cleaned, organized, and sterilized.
- Help manage patient flow to maintain efficiency and minimize wait times.
Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Medical Assistant certification preferred.
- Minimum of 1–2 years of experience as a Dermatology Medical Assistant required.
- Experience acting as a scribe in a dermatology or similar medical setting.
- Proficiency with Modernizing Medicine (EMA) required.
- Strong knowledge of dermatology terminology, procedures, and patient care standards.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with patients, providers, and team members.
- Ability to remain calm, professional, and efficient in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
