Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support and care in home care environments. The ideal candidate will be energetic, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering high-quality patient-centered care.
Responsibilities
- Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts and slide board transfer.
- Inserting a suppository to aid in bowel movement.
- Administer digital stems as needed
- Monitor patients’ health by observing vital signs, reporting changes in condition
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning duties, laundry assistance, and adherence to infection control protocols
- Observe patient for signs of dementia, Alzheimer's disease, autism spectrum disorders, or other developmental disabilities; report findings promptlySkills
- Prior experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, neurodevelopmental disorders.
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques and ability to monitor vital signs accurately
- Familiarity with care plans, medication administration procedures, and HIPAA compliance standards
- Proficiency in assisting with ADLs, manual handling techniques including Hoyer lifts, and patient monitoring tools
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with families, healthcare teams.
- Ability to perform light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning and laundry while maintaining infection control standards
- Certifications in CPR/First Aid are highly desirable; experience working within home health or hospice care settings is a plus
Pay: From $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 4.0 – 8.0 per week
Work Location: In person
