Want to work as a part-time Lifeguard, year-round at our beautiful, state of the art indoor facility? The City of Broadview Heights is now looking to fill Part-time Lifeguard positions to work day shift, 15 - 24 hours/week.
Lifeguards Responsibilities:
- Maintains constant surveillance and visual scans of assigned area of responsibility. Monitors activities, provides instructions, identifies potential accident hazards and prevent accidents.
- Cautions swimmers regarding unsafe practices and safety hazards, enforce pool rules and regulations in a consistent manner.
- Performs necessary rescues on any person needing assistance in the pool.
- Responds to all illness and injury incidents immediately and appropriately. This includes, but is not limited to performing Lifeguarding skills, First Aid, and CPR to provide emergency care and treatment as required until emergency services personnel arrive.
- Follows to the policies and procedures and attends mandatory in-service training sessions as scheduled.
- Performs related duties as required.
- Must have current Lifeguard Certification.
For Certified Water Safety Instructors, we have lots of opportunities to teach group and private lessons at a higher rate of pay. If you're interested in teaching group or private swim lessons but don't have your Water Safety Instructor certification, we offer free certification courses for our current Lifeguards!
Qualifications • Current Lifeguard Training Certification that includes CPR for the Professional Rescuer, and First Aid skills. AED certification or ability to obtain. • For Lifeguard/Water Safety Instructor positions, valid American Red Cross Water Safety instructor certification is also required. • Good interpersonal skills to communicate with the public and co-workers. • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
