Position Summary: The Afterschool Program Coordinator works with the Program Director to plan the scope and sequence of the program’s curriculum and activities, with specific focus on resourcing and implementation.
Reports to: Afterschool Program Director and Staff Parish Relations Committee (SPRC)
Type of Position: Part-time (20 hours per week including 2:00-5:30 each program day; 41 weeks per year including week before school starts, fall break, 1 week of winter break, spring break, and week after school ends. And Saturday May 1. Also will substitute for van driver on occasion)
Responsibilities:
· Manages and implements the daily curriculum, resources, and age-appropriate activities.
· Communicates effectively with program assistants, students, families, and program resource people.
· Supervises the tracking of student attendance, behavior, and grades, and provides reports on student behavior.
· Addresses immediate behavioral issues as needed.
· Ensures that students leave with approved adults.
· Supports students and their families with connections to community resources.
· Leads, coordinates, and supports the program assistants in their roles and responsibilities.
· Ensures the facility is prepared before each session and is closed appropriately.
· Reports immediately and documents any concerns regarding students, families, staff, or the facility to the program director.
· Completes training as required, including Safe Sanctuaries, First Aid, CPR, De-Escalation.
· Attends program, staff, and community meetings as directed.
· Occasional substitute Van Driver – at coordinator pay rate.
· Serves in the capacity of program director in the director’s absence.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, sit, walk, climb, lift objects up to 30 pounds, and be physically active with youth. Good vision (assisted) and hearing (assisted) and overall health as required for North Carolina driver's license.

Experience:
- assessing behaviors and redirecting: 1 year (Preferred)
- Working with middle school or high school students: 1 year (Required)
- understanding adolescent development: 1 year (Preferred)
