Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Class A Driver / Excavation Laborer to join our dynamic construction team. Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class A truck and trailer and other commercial vehicles in accordance with federal safety regulations and company policies
- Perform routine maintenance and safety checks on construction machinery including excavators, loaders, dozers, graders, backhoes, Caterpillar equipment, and tankers to ensure optimal performance
- Assist with excavation activities such as trenching, grading, utility locating, and horizontal drilling to support construction utility work
- Operate heavy equipment like excavators, loaders, dozers, graders, and water trucks to perform site grading and earthmoving tasks efficiently
- Follow all safety procedures related to equipment operation and construction site protocols to maintain a safe working environment for all team members
- Support construction activities including paving, utility installation, and site preparation while adhering to federal construction safety regulations
- Collaborate with team members on construction utility work projects ensuring precision and quality in every task
Experience
- Proven experience operating commercial trucks such as dump trucks, water trucks, or tanker trucks in a construction setting
- Hands-on experience with heavy equipment operation including excavators, loaders, dozers (Caterpillar preferred), graders, backhoes, and horizontal drilling machinery
- Knowledge of construction machinery maintenance routines and safety procedures for heavy equipment operation
- Familiarity with construction grading techniques and utility locating methods
- Prior involvement in large-scale construction projects involving excavation, paving, or site preparation is highly desirable
- Understanding of federal construction safety regulations and equipment safety procedures is essential
- Construction site experience demonstrating the ability to work efficiently within a team environment while maintaining high safety standards
