Job Description:
The Mowbray's Tree Service Equipment Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently operating heavy equipment to assist tree trimming crews in clearing vegetation around power lines, roads, and public areas. This role includes operating a variety of equipment, such as grapple trucks, skid steers, marsh masters, excavators, and other specialized machinery, to ensure tree trimming operations meet safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:

Safely operate tree trimming and line clearance equipment, including grapple trucks, stump grinders, and other machinery.

Prepare job sites by setting up equipment, securing work areas, and following company protocols to minimize risk to team members and the public.

Assist tree trimming crews by positioning equipment and providing support during vegetation management tasks.

Ensure all equipment is operated in compliance with OSHA and company safety standards, following all procedures to prevent injury and property damage.

Perform pre- and post-operation equipment inspections, minor maintenance, and report any equipment issues to supervisors.

Use equipment to remove, load, and dispose of branches, logs, and other debris generated from trimming activities, maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

Coordinate with tree trimming crews and foremen to ensure efficient and safe operations, maintaining clear communication throughout the day.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
Ability to work in various weather conditions if required by the job.
Must have the ability to perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs, including twisting, bending, climbing, and stooping.
Must possess fine motor skills and dexterity to handle tools and equipment.
Other Requirements:
Must possess a valid driver’s license, CDL (Commercial Driver's License) is preferred.
Experience operating grapple trucks or similar equipment
Ability to work long hours and travel as required for storm relief
Must have legal authorization to work in the United States.
