Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Driver to join our team to work with a well known high profile Brand Name client. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently within designated routes. This position requires a strong understanding of commercial driving, excellent route navigation skills, and the ability to handle various types of freight. The Driver will play a crucial role in ensuring timely deliveries while adhering to all safety regulations.
Duties
- Operate commercial vehicles, including trucks and tractor-trailers, to transport freight to various locations.
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper handling and securing of materials during transit.
- Navigate designated routes efficiently while adhering to traffic laws and company policies.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of mileage, fuel usage, and any incidents that occur during transport.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
- Operate forklifts as needed for loading and unloading tasks.
- Assist in training new drivers on safe driving practices and company procedures.
Requirements
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Experience in truck driving, particularly with manual transmission vehicles.
- Familiarity with load unloading procedures and freight handling.
- Ability to operate Moffet Forklift.
- Strong route driving skills with knowledge of local roadways.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
- Must be able to pass background checks and drug screenings as required by company policies.
