The Project Manager assists with the planning, coordination and management of engineering and construction projects from quote through engineering design, material procurement and tracking, construction, testing, commissioning, and project closure while meeting budget, quality control, and safety objectives.
Job Responsibilities
- Manages project schedules and maintains project management files and reports.
- Produces and prepares project status reports.
- Tracks projects and updates project budgets and schedules as needed.
- Communicates with clients and other relevant parties throughout the life cycle of projects.
- Identifies issues and constraints impacting project execution and assists with resolving engineering, material and construction conflicts.
- Works collaboratively with staff in the development of project tasks and deliverables to ensure the successful execution of projects
- Facilitates the flow of work during a project to ensure that it conforms to the project plan including forecasting, scoping, planning, scheduling, execution and closeout
- Assists in the development of performance metrics and tracks performance of the projects executed
- Identifies and recommends new processes, techniques and standards that drive performance and process management
- Validates financial forecasts and provides on-going reconciliation of resources and other related project expenditures

- Ability to implement project financial controls
- Ability to create and maintain project QA/QC process
- Contingency planning expertise and knowledge
- Ability to create, prioritize and maintain project action item list and daily/weekly progress reports
- Document control experience and expertise
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills including Outlook, Excel and Word
- Familiarity with scheduling software such as MS Project and Sharepoint, Smartsheet, and Primavera
- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning and resource allocation
Preferred Qualifications
- 3-5 years successful project management experience
- Bachelor's degree (engineering or business degree is a plus)
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
- Familiarity with electric transmission and distribution infrastructure
