Sandeep Gunnala Engineering SAGE PLLC is searching for a Site Safety Coordinator to perform Site Safety duties. The Site Safety Coordinator role is for a construction site in Manhattan. This role will report to the Director of Safety and work closely with the construction team to ensure the required safety measures are implemented and maintained on site.
This position is offered as a 1099-MISC independent contractor with an hourly compensation of $80 / hour..
Essential Responsibilities and Job Duties:
· Ensure construction site protective measures as required by the NYC Dept. of Buildings approved Site Safety Plan are implemented prior to commencement of work and maintained as the work progresses
· Perform daily inspections of the work site and maintain safety logs and other documentation as required
· Facilitate safety orientation meetings with workers new to the site
· Facilitate “toolbox talks” on a daily basis to discuss safety with workers
· Ensure all construction workers on site meet the Dept. of Building’s minimum training requirements and that all required certificates and/or qualifications are stored on site for reference
· Identify deficiencies in the safety of the work site and prepare and implement plans to remediate the condition(s)
· Provide notification to the Dept. of Buildings if any of the conditions as outlined in NYC BC 3310.8.2.1 are present on the work site
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
· Maintain Dept. of Buildings Site Safety Manager / Site Safety Coordinator License
· Working knowledge and familiarity with relevant construction safety local, state, and federal standards, codes, and requirements
· Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with all individuals on a work site
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite to prepare reports and other documents
Other Requirements:
· Ability to speak and write English
· Ability to speak Spanish fluently preferred
· Ability to physically perform the essential job functions listed above
NOTE: THIS WILL BE A 1099 POSITION
