We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our dynamic healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients’ physical and cognitive abilities using physiology and anatomy knowledge to develop tailored care plans.
- Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including dressing, grooming, feeding, and mobility to promote independence.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate discharge planning and ensure seamless transitions across care settings.
- Provide therapy interventions for individuals with autism spectrum disorders, neurodevelopmental disorders, disabilities, or recovering from acute or post-acute conditions.
- Document patient progress accurately using electronic health records (EHR) management systems while adhering to medical terminology standards.
- Support early intervention programs and working with students with disabilities or special education needs in school environments.
- Engage in case management activities to monitor patient outcomes and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
- Contribute to outpatient, inpatient, skilled nursing facility, home health, or clinic-based services based on your experience in these settings.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program; licensure or certification as required by state law.
- Proven experience in acute care settings such as ICU or inpatient units is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of medical documentation practices and medical terminology essential for accurate record keeping.
- Experience working with individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders, disabilities, autism spectrum disorders support needs, or speech therapy integration is preferred.
- Familiarity with evidence-based practice principles and anatomy/physiology fundamentals to inform treatment strategies.
- Ability to work effectively across diverse environments including outpatient clinics, schools, skilled nursing facilities, and home health services.
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with patients, families, educators, and healthcare professionals.
