American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift assignment requiring 2 years of experience and prior travel nursing experience.

Work in the Medical Surgical unit of a hospital environment
-
Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts from 18:00 to 06:00
-
Patient ratio of 1:5
-
13-week assignment length

Meditech charting system experience strongly preferred
-
Active RN license (Indiana State or Compact) required in-hand prior to start, pending license accepted with submission

Current certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Certified Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (CMSRN) or RN-BC, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred

Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience required

Previous travel nursing experience required
-
Community hospital and LTAC experience preferred
-
Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central line and PICC line management, and blood product administration
-
Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, high flow nasal cannula, and tracheostomy management preferred

Experience with cardiac monitoring, telemetry, and dysrhythmia management preferred

Wound care and wound vac experience preferred
-
Provide direct patient care across Med/Surg, MS/Tele, orthopedics, and short-stay unit settings
-
Care for patients with a range of conditions including GI, respiratory, genitourinary/renal, neurological, and endocrine/metabolic needs
-
Manage medications including heparin, insulin, and PCA administration
-
Utilize isolation precautions and PPE as needed

Participate in rapid response and code team activities as required

Strong teamwork, self-direction, and time management skills required in a fast-paced environment

Effective communication skills required

Completion of facility training modules required prior to start and annually for clearance
