We are seeking an energetic and highly skilled Lead MRI Technologist to join our dynamic radiology team. Responsibilities
- Lead the planning and execution of MRI procedures, ensuring optimal image quality and patient comfort.
- Supervise and mentor MRI technologists and support staff, fostering a collaborative team environment.
- Operate MRI scanners with precision, adhering to manufacturer guidelines and safety procedures.
- Coordinate with physicians and radiologists to determine appropriate imaging protocols based on diagnostic needs.
- Perform additional diagnostic imaging procedures such as CT scans, DEXA scans for bone density assessment, sonography, and vascular access as needed.
- Ensure strict compliance with patient safety regulations, aseptic techniques, and equipment safety procedures during all procedures.
- Maintain detailed documentation of imaging procedures, equipment maintenance logs, and quality assurance records using Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS).
- Monitor patient physiology during scans, applying knowledge of anatomy and physiology to optimize image acquisition while ensuring patient care and comfort.
- Assist in training staff on new imaging technologies and updates in radiology practices.
- Implement quality control measures to uphold high standards in diagnostic radiology and medical imaging services.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating MRI scanners with advanced knowledge of medical imaging techniques.
- Certification as a Radiologic Technologist (ARRT or equivalent) with specialization in MRI preferred.
- Strong proficiency in CT, DEXA scan, sonography, vascular access procedures, and other diagnostic modalities.
- Demonstrated ability to perform IV insertions, manage patient safety protocols, and ensure aseptic technique during procedures.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and diagnostic evaluation methods relevant to radiology.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; additional certifications such as Vascular Access or Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) are advantageous.
- Familiarity with medical equipment operation, equipment safety procedures, PACS systems, and radiation safety regulations.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams while providing compassionate patient care.
