Rocky Mount–Wilson Airport is seeking a skilled and personable Airport Front Desk Clerk and Administrative Assistant to support our Financial, Human Resources, and Clerical operations. This role serves as a key point of contact for our Fixed Base Operation (FBO), handling front desk and receptionist duties, maintaining the retail and terminal areas, dispatching communications with FBO line staff, and keeping accurate FBO records.
The ideal candidate brings strong office management experience, exceptional customer service skills, and basic proficiency in the Google Suite. They should be organized and able to set priorities across multiple tasks, resolve complaints or issues as they arise, and apply a working knowledge of basic bookkeeping, budgetary operations and data entry.
Clear written and verbal communication is essential, including the ability to write reports and provide documented recommendations. Above all, we're looking for someone who can build and maintain effective working relationships with airport users, tenants, contractors, government agencies, fellow employees and the public.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assisting aircrews and passengers with rental car reservations and catering services
- Opening and closing of the Airport Terminal and Retail areas
- Collect and distribute incoming mail and confirm outgoing mail has been picked up
- Organize and maintain fuel and sales records
- Process fuel and retail sales and run Point of Sale machine
- Maintain and reconcile cash drawer
- Stock and maintain inventory in retail and concession areas
- Check phone, email and flight aware for information on incoming aircraft
- Logging of Aircraft arrivals and departures
- Radio communications with aircraft and line staff
- Provide assistance to customers, vendors, pilots, crew and passengers as needed
- Housecleaning, janitorial and trash collection in and around Offices, Retail and Terminal areas
- Run miscellaneous errands
- Receive and send mail
- Record filing
- Accounts payable: prepare checks for review and approval
- Accounts Receivable: receive checks & make deposits
- Enter finances into QuickBooks
- Inventory retail and office supplies
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be highly organized and punctual
- Must be extremely courteous, friendly, and patient with the public
- Must have a working knowledge in Microsoft Office software programs
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and stand, sit or walk 6 hours of an 8-hour workday
- Ability to recognize and solve problems independently
- Possession of a valid driver’s license issued by the State of North Carolina.
- Successful completion of a drug screening and criminal background check will be required as a condition of employment.
Education and Experience
Minimum A.A. degree or a two (2) year degree
Proven experience in office management, administrative support or personal assistant roles
Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
