was established to oversee poverty alleviation efforts on the Near Westside of Cleveland. Our work focuses on reducing socioeconomic barriers for individuals to escape the cycle of poverty. We focus on three pillars:
1) Meeting Immediate Needs: Food distributions, affordable housing, immigrant support, and more
2) Leadership Development: High school leadership program, community development efforts
3) Connecting People & Resources: Partnering with organizations to make it easier for individuals to access the information and resources they need
We are seeking a Donation Event and Volunteer Coordinator to grow the community of people who give their time and their resources to OneHope NEO. The role supports the Board and Executive Director, strengthens relationships with the volunteers and donors we already have, and opens doors with churches, businesses, and community partners who do not yet know us. It is a strong fit for someone who is energized by meeting new people, comfortable asking them to get involved, and motivated by seeing events and programs actually come together.
Roles & responsibilities
- Support the Executive Director and Board of Directors with meeting logistics, materials, scheduling, and follow-up on committee action items
- Serve as the primary point of contact for volunteers and donors, responding to inquiries by phone, email, and in person
- Conduct regular outreach to existing volunteers and donors - check-ins, thank-yous, updates on impact, and invitations to the next opportunity
- Re-engage lapsed supporters and move first-time participants into consistent, ongoing involvement
- Visit churches, businesses, schools, and community organizations to introduce OneHope NEO and identify new partnership opportunities
- Plan and run a recurring speaker series that brings new audiences into the building and deepens community understanding of our work
- Coordinate recurring volunteer opportunities, including monthly food distribution and weekly tutoring - recruiting, scheduling, onboarding, and day-of support
- Host donor and volunteer events such as tours, open houses, and appreciation gatherings that drive participation and giving
- Represent OneHope NEO at community events, church services, and business gatherings, and speak about the mission to groups of all sizes
- Maintain accurate volunteer and donor records in Airtable, tracking outreach, attendance, participation, and follow-up
- Track event budgets, supplies, and logistics, and coordinate with staff and partners on space and setup
- Support evening and weekend programming as needed
Requirements & qualifications
- Passionate about making a difference within the world
- Comfortable initiating conversations with new people - pastors, business owners, donors, and volunteers
- Excellent communicator - both written & verbal communication skills are required
- Comfortable speaking in front of groups and representing the organization publicly
- Experience coordinating events, volunteers, or community programs preferred
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and complete tasks independently
- Ability to leverage common software packages (e.g., Microsoft Suite, Airtable, etc.)
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously
- Ability to work evenings and weekend hours
- Reliable transportation for local travel to churches, businesses, and partner sites
- Physical ability to lift at least 50 pounds
Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
