MUST BE 18. Hours are 7-4 Monday through Friday w/ some weekend work. We are seeking a motivated and skilled Garage Door Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of garage doors and related systems. Your expertise will ensure that each project meets safety standards, building codes, and customer expectations. Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and maintain garage doors, openers, springs, cables, rollers, tracks, and hardware with precision and attention to detail
- Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and building plans to ensure accurate installation and repairs
- Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication techniques to complete projects efficiently
- Conduct electrical work related to garage door systems, including wiring sensors and control panels
- Perform heavy lifting of doors and components safely while adhering to safety protocols
- Ensure all work complies with local building codes and safety regulations during installation or repair processes
- Communicate clearly with customers to explain services performed and provide maintenance advice for long-term functionality
Skills
- Mechanical knowledge with experience in door installation, mechanical repair, and fabrication techniques
- Proficiency in glass installation, carpentry (including trim carpentry), framing (metal stud framing), locksmithing, fixture installation, cabinet installation, and remodeling tasks
- Strong understanding of electrical work related to garage door systems and interpreting technical drawings or blueprints
- Experience with construction site procedures, blueprint reading, construction experience, and building code compliance
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, caulking guns, and other fabrication tools
- Customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients about project status and maintenance needs
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while working on construction sites or in tight spaces
- Hands-on experience with metal fabrication or remodeling projects is a plus for versatile project handling
