About the role:
The HR Business Partner is a hands-on role responsible for the full lifecycle of Human Resources operations for the U.S. organization. This position serves as the primary HR leader and trusted partner to employees and managers, ensuring compliance, operational excellence, and alignment with global HR strategy. The HR Business Partner owns benefits, talent acquisition, compensation, payroll, HR systems, employee relations, and compliance, while fostering a positive, inclusive, and high-performance culture.
This role works closely with local leadership, Finance, Legal, external vendors, and the Global HR team based in the Netherlands.
The HR Business Partner is the key HR partner for the U.S. organization, responsible for translating global HR policies, processes, and initiatives into effective local execution. Leading a small HR team consisting of one direct report and one dotted-line team member, this role acts as the primary link between the U.S. business and the global HR function at Headquarters.
This is a broad, hands-on position that combines operational execution with the opportunity to take ownership of strategic HR priorities. The HR Business Partner works closely with managers and employees to implement HR programs, drive organizational effectiveness, and ensure compliance with local legislation and company policies.
The role covers the full employee lifecycle, including talent acquisition, compensation and benefits, payroll, employee relations, HR systems, and compliance. While supported by global Centers of Expertise, the HR Business Partner is expected to proactively identify opportunities, drive improvements, and independently lead HR initiatives that support business growth and employee engagement.
This is a hybrid role for 3 days in office.
Key Responsibilities
Total rewards, payroll & employee programs
- Own all US benefits administration including plan selection, renewals, vendor management, and employee communications
- Plan and execute Open Enrollment, including benefit communications, system updates, and benefit documentation
- Manage 401(k) administration end to end, including advisor coordination, participant communications, compliance, and reporting
- Oversee third-party sick pay and leave administration and administer COBRA in accordance with federal and state regulations
- Oversee bi-weekly and monthly payroll processing, ensuring accuracy of bonuses, salary increases, and final payments
Talent acquisition, workforce planning & compensation
- Own Talent Acquisition outcomes, timelines, and hiring effectiveness
- Partner with managers and recruiters to ensure appropriate roles are opened, job descriptions are aligned, and hiring needs are met
- Lead annual job grading and compensation review cycles
- Evaluate internal equity and external market competitiveness
Employee lifecycle, HR systems, & performance management
- Oversee offboarding processes including exit interviews, termination data entry, and final pay calculations
- Maintain and update local onboarding and offboarding processes and documentation
- Lead performance management cycles including mid-year and year-end reviews
- Support managers with performance improvement plans (PIPs) and disciplinary actions
- Own HRIS management across Paylocity, Workday, and SAP
- Prepare monthly and ad-hoc HR reports for leadership and Finance
- Handle grievances, mediate disputes, and recommend corrective actions
- Own all US HR policies, procedures, and the employee handbook
Global partnership, learning & continuous improvement
- Coordinate immigration matters with external attorneys, including visas, transfers, expats, and work authorization
- Coordinate Learning & Development initiatives for the US organization in partnership with the Global L&D Lead
- Administer the annual engagement survey and partner with managers on action planning and follow-up
- Maintain close alignment with Global HR teams at HQ (Netherlands) and share best practices
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 4-7 years of progressive HR experience, including leadership responsibility.
- Authorized to work in the US
- Strong knowledge of U.S. employment law and HR compliance.
- Proven experience managing benefits, payroll, compensation, and HRIS systems.
- Experience working with global or multinational organizations preferred.
- Exceptional communication, judgment, and relationship-building skills.
- Highly competent in Microsoft Applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc)

Pay: $80,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
