This is a contract role with an estimated length of 8-12 months.
Under the direction of a Sr. Laboratory Manager and/or Machine Shop Supervisor, the primary responsibility of this position is to setup and fabricate test fixtures and weld prototype shock absorber components using an in-house MIG and TIG welders and jigs.
Job Responsibilities
Primary role of this position is to support activities of the Drive Control Business Unit and Design Engineering groups by performing combinations of the following activities:

Perform machining and fabrication of test fixtures and prototype shock absorber components using vertical mill, lathe, band saw, drill press, shear and brake.

Be able to work in both a team environment and independently with minimal supervision.

Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to work with remote / offsite test requestors.

Mechanical fabrication skills, CNC Mill, CNC Lathe, MIG / TIG welding.

Programming ability using our CAD/CAM software

Ability to read blueprints, drawings and GD&T.

Willingness to learn and enhance existing skills.

Must be computer-savvy, proficient with Microsoft Excel and Outlook.

Have experience coordinating and facilitating several tasks.
Minimum Qualifications

5+ years of applicable experience required with CNC Mill - 3 Axis CNC Programming, CNC Lathe, Mastercram Proficiency.

High School diploma or equivalent degree (2-year Associates Degree is preferred)
