Hiring: Safety Manager
Location: Hagerstown, MD
Pay: $90,000–$100,000/year
The Safety Manager will be responsible for planning, developing, and coordination of the safety, health and environmental objectives, materials, and environments to achieve safety management effectiveness. This position will facilitate and maintain ABM EH&S programs and solutions in support of those objectives as well as support and drive national and region strategic initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and evaluate safety, health, and environmental programs.
- Conduct risk assessments, job hazard analyses, safety audits, and workplace inspections.
- Investigate incidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
- Maintain OSHA records, training documentation, and compliance reports.
- Develop and deliver safety training, including LOTO, confined space, fall protection, PIT, MEWP, electrical safety, and HAZMAT/HAZWOPER.
- Partner with operations, engineering, and leadership teams to identify hazards and improve safety performance.
- Lead injury reduction, 5S, and other safety improvement initiatives.
- Monitor safety performance, identify gaps, and provide recommendations to leadership.
- Support a multi-site workforce and ensure consistent safety standards across operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health, Business, Safety, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
- 5+ years of safety and risk management experience.
- OSHA 30 or OSHA 501/510 certification required.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA and federal/state safety regulations.
- Experience developing and delivering safety training programs.
- Strong incident investigation, risk assessment, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience supporting manufacturing, industrial, GMP, or other complex operational environments preferred.
- Strong communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
