Job Summary
Community Works is hiring an experienced carpenter for exterior restoration work on residential and commercial properties across Chittenden County.
The Work:
- Siding and trim: Cedar clapboard replacement, corner boards, window casings, fascia repair
- Decks: Custom deck builds, board replacement, cable railing installs, structural repairs
- Fencing: Cedar privacy fences, custom gates, post replacement
- Exterior structures: Pergolas, arbors, storage sheds
- Punch list work: The detailed repairs that make a property look finished—rot repair, flashing, small structural fixes
Most projects run 1–3 weeks. You'll work independently on single-property sites, occasionally alongside our painting crews on larger restorations.

What We're Looking For:
- 3+ years residential or commercial carpentry experience
- Own your tools
- Active general liability insurance
- Vehicle capable of moving tools and ladders
- Detail-oriented approach—you care about reveal lines, caulk joints, and clean cuts
