What You Will Be Doing
· Develop and implement HR strategy, policies, and procedures that support company growth and food manufacturing compliance requirements (OSHA, FDA/food safety-adjacent labor practices, state labor law)
· Build out core HR infrastructure: employee handbook, performance management process, compensation structure, and onboarding program
· Partner with the COO and plant leadership on workforce planning, staffing levels, and organizational structure as the company scales
· Champion a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
· Lead recruiting strategy for both production/hourly roles and salaried positions, including sourcing, interviewing, and offer management
· Develop retention and engagement initiatives suited to a mixed hourly/salaried, multi-shift workforce
· Establish and track HR metrics (turnover, time-to-fill, absenteeism) to inform leadership decisions
· Administer payroll processing and ensure accuracy and compliance (in coordination with finance/payroll provider)
· Manage benefits administration, open enrollment, and vendor relationships
· Oversee employee relations: investigations, disciplinary actions, conflict resolution, and documentation
· Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment law, including wage and hour rules relevant to manufacturing environments
· Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS data
· Support workers' compensation claims and workplace safety programs in partnership with operations leadership
· Manage leave administration (FMLA, state leave programs, company leave policies)
· Conduct new hire onboarding and manage the off-boarding processes
· Manage unemployment benefits and claims
· Manage short and long-term disability claims.
· Track employee absentees, PTO, vacation, sick days, and holidays
What You Bring To The Table
· Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)
· 5+ years of progressive HR experience, including at least 2 years in a manufacturing, production, or industrial environment
· Working knowledge of federal and state employment law, wage and hour regulations, and safety compliance (OSHA)
· Experience managing both hourly/production and salaried employee populations
· Strong interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills; comfortable spending time on the production floor as well as in the office
· Proficiency with HRIS and payroll systems
· Ability to communicate across multiple languages through translators or translator applications

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
