Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Swiss Setup Machinist to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up and operating precision CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines, including Star Swiss lathes to produce high-quality components with tight tolerances. Your expertise in Swiss-style machining will ensure efficient production processes, optimal tooling, and adherence to strict quality standards. Responsibilities
- Set up and calibrate Swiss-style CNC machines, including tooling adjustments, to produce complex parts according to detailed blueprints and technical drawings.
- Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and technical specifications to ensure accurate machining processes.
- Operate precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM) to verify dimensions and ensure parts meet quality standards.
- Perform routine maintenance on CNC equipment, troubleshoot issues, tooling wear, or machine calibration.
- Maintain a clean, organized work environment while adhering to safety protocols; operate hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and forklifts as needed.
- Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to improve machining processes using lean manufacturing principles and optimize cycle times.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Swiss Setup Machinist or in a similar precision machining role
- Strong knowledge of CNC programming languages such as Fanuc or other control systems.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, GD&T standards, and technical drawings; mechanical knowledge is essential.
- Familiarity with precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and dial indicators.
- Basic math skills for calculating dimensions, tolerances, and machine offsets; ability to perform measurements accurately.
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, tooling equipment, welding apparatus, forklift trucks, and other manufacturing machinery safely.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles aimed at reducing waste while increasing efficiency.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills; ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Pay: $20.00 - $34.00 per hour
