Prepare meals according to planned menus and standardized recipes
Review menus, census information, production guides, and prep sheets to determine daily food quantities
Follow all safe food handling guidelines and state/federal regulations
Maintain high standards for food preparation, quality, taste, and presentation
Assist with ordering, storing, and organizing food and supplies
Use kitchen equipment such as mixers, slicers, steamers, convection ovens, ranges, and tilt skillets
Prepare consistency-modified and therapeutic diet foods as required
Assist with pre-prep tasks: washing, peeling, cutting, slicing, and measuring ingredients
Taste-test foods and adjust as needed for quality and palatability
Monitor, record, and maintain proper food temperatures
Document menu changes and use approved nutrition substitutes
Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary kitchen environment
Follow cleaning schedules, wash dishes, sweep/mop floors, and take out trash as assigned
Help ensure all meals are prepared and served on time
Support special events or catered meals as needed
