American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN with strong scrub and circulate skills and at least 2 years of recent OR experience for a 13-week night shift travel contract.

Work in a high-volume Operating Room with 45 cases across 17 rooms
-
Specialties include (in priority order): Neuro/Neuro Spine, Ortho/Ortho Spine, Vascular, Robotics, Urology, Podiatry, Oncology GYN, and General/ENT/Plastics

Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
-
No call or float requirements

EMR: Epic (training provided); also uses Pyxis

13-week contract minimum; longer contracts may be available

Active NC or compact RN license required (may be pending at time of consideration)

Current BLS certification required (may be pending at time of consideration)

Minimum 2 years of recent, acute OR experience required; candidates out of the acute OR setting for more than 6 months will not be considered

Must be proficient in both scrubbing and circulating

Strong experience in at least 2 of the following specialties: Neuro Spine, Ortho Spine, Vascular, or Robotics

Prior travel nursing experience required

Two professional references from a manager or supervisor within the past 2 years required prior to start (pending at time of consideration is acceptable)

Scrubs are provided (Ceil Blue)

Orientation consists of a minimum of 36 hours (3 days), not including Epic training, with weekly orientation sessions

Pre-start modules of approximately 8–10 hours are required and must be completed annually; modules are completed via online learning, Zoom, webinar, and in-person classes

Candidates must work 2 out of 3 major holidays

No RTO is permitted during the first week of the assignment due to orientation; up to 7 days of RTO may be auto-approved as long as it does not fall on a holiday; additional RTO requires facility approval

Any previous permanent, PRN, or EP staff employee of Novant Health or New Hanover Regional must wait 12 months before being considered as a traveler; facility rehire approval is required

Local candidates are accepted; candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are eligible at a different rate
-
Travel pairs are welcome; each traveler must have their own transportation and be comfortable with potentially different schedules

Candidates previously in management roles will not be considered
