Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise retail staff to achieve sales targets while fostering a positive team environment.
- Oversee inventory management, including stock control, purchasing, merchandising, and inventory audits to ensure product availability and accuracy.
- Manage daily store operations such as cash handling, POS (Point of Sale) systems, cashiering, and store opening/closing procedures.
- Develop and implement training programs for staff on customer service excellence, sales techniques, and operational procedures.
- Conduct employee interviews, onboarding, performance evaluations, and provide ongoing coaching to enhance team productivity.
- Coordinate scheduling, shift management, and ensure compliance with company policies and safety standards.
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly to maintain high levels of satisfaction.
- Execute marketing initiatives and promotional activities to boost store traffic and sales performance.
- Monitor retail math metrics such as sales figures, pricing strategies, budgeting, and sales management to optimize profitability.
- Support operational management tasks including payroll processing, bookkeeping, cash handling accuracy, and administrative duties.
Qualifications
- Proven management experience within the retail industry with a focus on sales team supervision and operational oversight.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate diverse teams and foster employee development.
- Excellent communication skills in multiple languages; bilingual abilities are highly desirable.
- Demonstrated expertise in negotiation, recruiting, interviewing, training & development, and employee orientation.
- Proficiency in retail systems such as POS software, inventory control tools, merchandising platforms, and wireless sales technology.
- Experience with retail math concepts including pricing strategies, budgeting, sales management, and store financials.
- Knowledge of grocery store operations or similar retail environments is preferred.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage time effectively across multiple responsibilities.
- Familiarity with cashiering procedures, cash handling protocols, phone etiquette, and customer service standards.
- Previous assistant manager or supervisory experience in retail settings is advantageous.
