POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for a variety of HR Generalist functions with an emphasis on employee relations and workplace investigations. This position also assists with performance management and compliance. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. QUALIFICATIONS:
A minimum of two (2) years of current HR experience with a strong focus on Employee Relations, including progressive discipline, performance management, workplace investigations, and coaching in a corporate environment.
Working knowledge of employment laws, guidelines, and other applicable local, State, and Federal laws with the ability to apply this knowledge to employee relations decisions.
Strong experience drafting and reviewing employee relations documentation (disciplinary actions, performance improvement plans, investigation summaries) with attention to accuracy, consistency, and legal/compliance considerations.
Proficiency in Excel (must know how to use IF statements, create complex formulas, perform VLOOKUP’s, countifs, conditional formatting, pivot tables, and reports.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED:
Receives direct supervision from the Human Resources Assistant Manager and indirectly reports to the Human Resources Director. Does not exercise supervision over any other position but may request assistance from the department’s administrative staff.
Work is performed primarily in a temperature-controlled office environment with moderate noise levels due to routine phone and in-person interactions. The role also requires periodic work outdoors while visiting terminal operations, involving exposure to varying weather conditions such as heat, rain, wind, dust, and industrial fumes.
