Job Overview
The Retail Customer Service Associate position provides impeccable customer service to our guests while promoting our retail products and the museum.
This position will provide polite, friendly, and informative service to all guests.
While actively welcoming and providing service to our guests, information will be provided regarding events such as our awards show and other happenings outlined by management.
Actively engaging with all museum and gift shop guests.
Actively sells and upsells products based on customers' likes and needs.
Preparing and mailing online purchases
Know and become proficient in the products we sell in our gift shop, and have a working knowledge of exhibits within the museum.
Creates and maintains merchandising displays in a visually appealing manner.
Keeps merchandise stocked and organized
A general understanding of Inventory systems is appreciated
Keep the gift shop and museum clean – dusting, organizing, no excesses on the counters.
Being accountable for daily cash register sales, including proper opening and closing procedures, and adhering to cash handling procedures
Responsible for covering shifts for co-workers
Providing management with customer comments about merchandise, experiences in the museum, etc.
Report any concerns to management – maintenance, computer issues, etc.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Education – Minimum HS Diploma
Experience – At least 2 years of experience in customer service, sales, and/or cash handling preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities – Must have a positive attitude, enjoy speaking with people, ability to sell
