Patient Access Associate
Location: Doylestown, PA
Pay Rate: $21.00/hour
Job Type: Contract (8 weeks with potential extensions)
Position Summary
We are seeking a customer-focused Patient Access Associate to support Doylestown Primary Care practices. This role is responsible for handling inbound patient calls, scheduling and coordinating patient services, documenting encounters, and providing exceptional customer service to patients and providers.
This position is ideal for candidates with previous experience in a call center, medical office, healthcare front desk, receptionist, or Patient Service Representative (PSR) role.
Schedule
Core hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Schedules may vary between:
- 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
- 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
Responsibilities
- Answer incoming calls supporting Doylestown Primary Care practices.
- Deliver exceptional customer service and create a positive patient experience.
- Meet Access Center service level goals while following departmental protocols.
- Accurately document patient encounters and detailed notes within the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
- Communicate patient needs and route requests appropriately through the EMR system.
- Educate patients on appointment requirements, referrals, copays, medical records, test results, and other pertinent information.
- Utilize medical terminology and EMR knowledge to support patient needs.
- Resolve telephone and scheduling issues and escalate concerns as appropriate.
- Follow established registration and downtime procedures.
- Maintain current knowledge of insurance requirements, billing procedures, managed care plans, referrals, and copayment requirements.
- Participate in service recovery efforts and involve management when necessary.
QualificationsRequired
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Preferred
- Call center experience.
- Patient Service Representative (PSR) experience.
- Medical office, healthcare receptionist, or front desk experience.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Experience scheduling patient appointments.
- Working knowledge of Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems is highly preferred. Please include EMR experience on candidate submissions.
