Lead AV TechnicianAbout the Role
Energize California is seeking a skilled Lead AV Technician to install, configure, and maintain integrated audio/video, networking, and home automation systems. The ideal candidate has strong hands-on experience with low-voltage wiring, troubleshooting, system commissioning, and residential technology integration.
Compensation: Pay depends on experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and service integrated AV, networking, and smart home systems
- Terminate and install low-voltage cabling, panels, and junction boxes
- Troubleshoot audio, video, networking, and control systems
- Interpret project plans, blueprints, and system schematics
- Perform system configuration, calibration, programming, testing, and commissioning
- Ensure installations meet quality, performance, and code requirements
- Communicate project progress and field issues to project management
- Serve as the on-site point of contact for customers and trade partners
- Maintain company tools, equipment, and vehicles
- Lead and mentor junior technicians when required
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 2–5+ years of experience installing low-voltage integrated systems
- Experience with home automation, audio/video distribution, networking, and control systems
- Strong knowledge of AV signal flow and system integration
- Knowledge of basic and advanced troubleshooting techniques
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and system schematics
- Experience with low-voltage wiring standards and best practices
- Strong understanding of residential networking concepts
- Ability to work independently and lead installation teams
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical installation work
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Control4 systems
- Experience with Savant, Crestron, Lutron, Sonos, Ubiquiti, or similar platforms
- Industry certifications related to AV, networking, or home automation
- Previous leadership or crew management experience
Pay: $50.00 - $75.00 per hour
