Duties
- Safely operate Super 10 and double bottom tractor-trailers across assigned routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or manual methods, ensuring cargo integrity and security.
- Drive a variety of trailers including refrigerated, flatbed, tanker, dump truck, and roll-off trucks based on delivery requirements.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to identify maintenance needs or safety concerns.
- Route driving efficiently to meet delivery schedules while optimizing fuel usage and minimizing delays.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage logs, inspection reports, and other required documentation.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate pickups, deliveries, and address any issues promptly.
Qualifications
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with endorsements suitable for operating tractor-trailers and specialized trailers.
- Proven experience in truck driving with a focus on freight delivery using manual transmission vehicles.
- Familiarity with operating refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to load & unload freight safely using forklifts or manual techniques.
- Strong knowledge of route driving best practices along with adherence to safety protocols.
- Experience with delivery driver responsibilities including route planning and customer service.
