Highland Sanitation & Recycling Inc is now hiring for our open yard labor and cart washer position at our Empire facility. This position's main responsibilities involve the washing, building and repairing of the carts used for residential services. Additional responsibilities include putting stickers on carts, washing and putting stickers and decals on commercial containers and picking up miscellaneous trash and debris around the cart and container storage and repair areas of our lot.
An extra $1.00 per hour pay is available if you have a clean driving record and can pass a DOT drug screen to qualify for driving our container delivery truck to help with delivery and removal of commercial front and rear load containers!
No experience is needed, just a willingness to work and be reliable!
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Organize a container cleanliness program and see that containers stick to an organized wash schedule.
- Wash carts, containers, compactors, trucks to support business needs.
- Sweep floor, put parts away, and perform other custodial functions to maintain order and cleanliness in the work area. Assist in keeping building grounds and wash bay clean and organized. Daily use of power washer.
- Perform minor repairs to the equipment and facility.
- Perform other related work as required.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma and/or GED.
- Valid driver's license & clean driving record.
- 1+ year of work experience preferably in a labor type position.
- Proven ability to be a self-starter and ability to work with little supervision is required.
- Experience in a maintenance shop or industrial environment preferred, but not required.
- Ability to work safely in all weather conditions.
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
