Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, such as lattes, cappuccinos, and espressos
- Take customer orders and process payments using a cash register or POS system
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and making recommendations
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the coffee bar area
- Follow food safety guidelines and ensure proper handling and storage of food items
- Operate and maintain coffee equipment, such as espresso machines and grinders
- Prepare and serve other food items, such as pastries or sandwiches, as needed
- Maintain competency over products and services offered to customers
Experience:
- Previous experience as a barista or in a similar role preferred, not mandatory
- Knowledge of coffee brewing techniques and specialty coffee drinks
- Familiarity with cash handling procedures and operating a cash register or POS system
- Understanding of food safety regulations and best practices
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong communication skills to interact with customers and team members
Skills:
- Proficiency in operating a cash register or POS system for processing payments
- Knowledge of basic math for calculating prices, making change, and tracking inventory
- Time management skills to prioritize tasks and ensure efficient service
- Ability to multitask and handle multiple customer orders simultaneously
- Familiarity with Aloha POS system is a plus
- Sales skills to upsell products and promote special offers
