Part-Time STEM Teacher (Robotics & Coding)
LongWings Education is seeking an enthusiastic and responsible Part-Time STEM Teacher to join our growing education team. The ideal candidate enjoys working with K–12 students and has experience or strong interest in robotics, programming, engineering, STEM competition, and hands-on STEM education.
We provide innovative after-school STEM programs including robotics, coding, engineering design, and competition training. This is a great opportunity for college students, engineers, educators, and STEM professionals who enjoy inspiring the next generation of innovators.
Position: Part-Time STEM Teacher
Location: Great Neck, NY
Job Type: Part-Time / After-School Hours
Pay Range: $30–$60/hour (based on experience and qualifications)
Responsibilities
- Teach STEM classes for elementary, middle, and high school students (Grades K–12)
- Lead hands-on robotics and engineering projects
- Teach robotics platforms such as:
- VEX IQ Robotics
- VEX V5 Robotics
- LEGO Robotics (SPIKE / WeDo)
- Other educational robotics platforms
- Teach programming concepts using languages and platforms such as:
- Scratch
- Python
- Java
- Block-based programming
- Guide students through robotics competitions and STEM projects
- Create an engaging, positive, and supportive classroom environment
- Help students develop:
- Problem-solving skills
- Engineering thinking
- Creativity
- Teamwork and communication skills
Qualifications
Required:
- Strong interest in STEM education and working with children
- Good communication and classroom management skills
- Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to students
Preferred:
- Experience teaching STEM, robotics, coding, or engineering
- Experience with robotics competitions (VEX, FIRST, LEGO, etc.)
- Programming experience in Python, Java, C++, or Scratch
- Engineering, Computer Science, Education, or related background
- Previous tutoring or coaching experience
