Job Summary
The Quality Plant Auditor is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality throughout the manufacturing process. This role plays a critical part in maintaining compliance with company procedures and ISO requirements by conducting inspections, performing audits, managing non-conformances, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the plant.
Key Responsibilities
- Incoming Inspection
- Conduct and document thorough receiving inspections of incoming materials and goods.
- Create Non-Conforming Material Reports (NCMR) for any materials that fail inspection criteria.
- Plant and Process Audits
- Participate in internal plant audits and process audits.
- Conduct Brazing Audits, including process audits and braze verification (cut and peel).
- Perform production first-piece inspection approvals and audit ongoing production inspections.
- ISO System Management
- Participate in the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the company’s ISO quality management systems.
- Document Control
- Perform document control activities, including the processing, review, and approval of quality records such as inspection reports and design records.
- Quality Issue Resolution
- Attend Material Review Board (MRB) meetings and Management Review meetings to support continuous improvement planning.
- Assist in resolving internal and external quality issues and implementing effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Support containment activities, root cause investigations, and follow-up on corrective actions for customer, supplier, and internal non-conformances.
- Review and verify non-conforming materials and ensure timely disposition.
- Supplier Quality
- Participate in supplier performance evaluations and conduct supplier audits as required.
- Testing and Verification
- Perform destructive testing and catalog/document results accurately.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the General Manager.
Requirements & Qualifications
o High school diploma or GED minimum
- Relevant experience in quality assurance, auditing, or manufacturing inspection (previous experience in a plant auditor or quality technician role preferred).
o 2–5+ years in quality assurance/auditing in manufacturing. Hands-on plant floor experience is essential for this scale.
- Technical Skills
- Proficient in the use of precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, etc.).
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Strong understanding of root cause analysis and problem-solving methodologies.
- Familiarity with ISO quality management systems.
- Communication & Interpersonal Skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present information clearly to groups of employees or customers.
- Strong project and resource management skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment while promoting company values.
- Other Competencies
- Demonstrated ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Proficiency in basic algebra and geometry.
- Strong computer skills with experience in report generation and document management.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Willingness to work overtime when necessary.
Pay: $21.00 - $24.00 per hour
