Job Title: Pulmonology Nurse

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
The nursing position is responsible for providing support and assistance to the provider and department.
POSITION SUMMARY:
- Room patients and verify patient information by interviewing patients, record medical history, and confirm purpose of visit.
- Prepare patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests, taking blood pressure, weight, height, and reporting patient history summary.
- Help physicians examine and treat patients, acting as chaperone, handing them instruments and materials or performing such tasks as giving injections, removing sutures, etc.
- Secure patient information and maintain patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records, and keeping patient information confidential.
- Employee has ability to access ePHI. Employee has been educated regarding access and is aware it is limited to information necessary to complete their job duties. Employees should not access any ePHI that does not directly relate to their daily work function.
- Document all patient interactions and conversations in real time.
- Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures while complying with legal regulations.
- Complete tasks, tracks overdue orders, and completes refills in a timely manner.
- Perform general office duties such as answering and returning telephone calls, completing forms and paperwork and communicating efficiently and promptly between all parties including patients, co-workers, other intraoffice departments, as well as other health care facilities.
- Collect tissue or other laboratory specimens, log the specimens and prepare them for testing.
- Keep supplies ready by tracking inventorying stock and timely communication of the need to reorder supplies to designated staff.
- Clean and sterilize instruments and exam rooms and properly dispose of contaminated supplies.
- Stock and maintain exam rooms and bathrooms for patient and physician needs.
- Knowledge of various insurance requirements as pertains to preferred laboratory for patient specimens, precertification and prior-authorization requirements for in office procedures, surgeries and radiology testing. Obtain proper prior authorization and pre-certifications in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate timekeeping records for all hours worked, including time away from work.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Must have/ maintain, at a minimum, an active Certification Nursing Assistant (CNA), LPN license preferred
- Possesses a strong customer service focus
- Excellent organizational skills
- Able to generate, maintain and demonstrate a friendly, enthusiastic and positive attitude
- Experience with EHR systems, and/or ability to learn and master the practice’s scheduling system
- Must be proficient computer keyboarding skills as well as Microsoft Word and Outlook
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work environment is fast paced but professional and friendly. Work may require sitting for long periods of time; also stooping, bending, and stretching for supplies. The lifting of items weighing up to 40 pounds may be required. Requires good eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, type at 40 wpm, operate calculator, telephone, copier, and such other office equipment, as necessary. Vison must be correctable to 20/20 and hearing must be in the normal range for telephone contacts. It is necessary to view and type on computer screen for long periods and to work under stressful or emergency situations with high concentration and energy level.
Work is performed in an office environment. Involves frequent telephone contact with patients and the public. Interaction with others is constant and interruptive.
Dress code consists of medical scrub attire. The provided option for Friday’s is casual attire including jeans, provided there are no rips, tears, or holes. An Inspire T-shirt may be provided, but not required to wear on Friday’s.

Pay: $16.00 - $24.00 per hour
