Position Summary
Rhino Facilities is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Veterinary Medical Equipment Asset Tagger to support equipment inventory projects at veterinary hospitals and clinics. This per diem position is responsible for locating medical equipment, applying asset identification tags, and accurately recording equipment information in an electronic inventory system.
Assignments are scheduled based on project needs and includes travel to multiple veterinary facilities throughout the US. Hours will vary by location and workload.
*Travel & experience with medical equipment is REQUIRED for this position.
Key Responsibilities
- Locate and identify medical, diagnostic, laboratory, surgical, and facility equipment.
- Apply QR-code asset tags to each piece of equipment according to established procedures.
- Accurately document information such as equipment type, manufacturer, model, serial number, asset tag number, location, and condition.
- Photograph equipment when required.
- Enter and verify inventory data using a tablet or laptop.
- Coordinate with veterinary and facility personnel to access equipment while minimizing disruption to patient care and daily operations.
- Follow site-specific safety precautions.
- Maintain confidentiality and protect facility and client information.
- Travel between assigned veterinary facilities as needed.
- Capture photos of the facility & create a general site condition report via Sitecam to provide to the onsite leadership team post tagging.
Qualifications / Requirements
- You must have a valid US passport or enhanced license as travel is required.
- You must have a valid US driver’s license.
- You must have a laptop or tablet with Wi-Fi capability that you can utilize for asset tagging & site condition recording.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Previous experience with asset tagging, inventory control, data collection, healthcare equipment, or veterinary operations preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
- Basic proficiency with tablets, computers, barcode scanners, and data-entry applications.
- Ability to read and accurately record model numbers, serial numbers, and equipment identifiers.
- Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and follow standardized project procedures.
- Availability for flexible schedules, which may include early mornings, evenings, or weekends.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to bend, kneel, reach, and work in tight or low-access areas.
- Ability to safely lift and move equipment weighing up to [25–40] pounds.
- Comfort working in active veterinary environments where animals, animal hair, cleaning products, medical odors, and biological materials may be present.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment.
Additional Information
This is a non-clinical position and does not involve diagnosing or treating animals, repairing equipment, or operating medical devices.
Per-diem assignments and hours will depend on business and project needs. Pay is $250/day (most days will fall around 8-10 hours). A stipend for laptop/tablet use will also be provided at $20/day.
