Job Description
Brandywine Kennels is seeking a dependable, animal-loving kennel attendant to join our team. This role is essential to the daily care, safety, and happiness of the dogs entrusted to us. The ideal candidate is hardworking, compassionate, detail oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment. This is a part-time position.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily care for dogs, which includes feeding, ensuring water bowls are filled, and administering basic medications as needed
- Cleaning and sanitizing kennels, dog bowls, and common areas
- Safely handle dogs of ALL sizes, breeds, age, and temperaments
- Assist with ALL outdoor potty breaks
- Monitor dog behavior, appetite, and overall well-being with the intent to report all concerns to management
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe facility 100% of the time
- Follow kennel policies, safety procedures, and animal care protocols
- Provide friendly, respectful interaction with animals, coworkers, and pet owners
- Must practice respectful and courteous customer service skills
Qualifications
- Genuine love for dogs and animal care
- Comfortable working hands-on with dogs of all sizes, breeds, and personalities
- Must be reliable, punctual, and responsible
- Able to handle physical work which includes, but is not limited to, cleaning, lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
- Display willingness to learn and follow established care and safety routines
- Prior kennel, farm, or animal experience is a HUGE plus, but not an absolute requirement
