Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated (W-9) Non-Certified After-School Tutor to inspire and support students in their academic journey. Duties
- Assist students with homework and reinforce classroom lessons across various subjects such as mathematics, science, English language arts, and social studies.
- Implement creative lesson plans tailored to individual learning styles and needs, including early childhood education and preschool activities.
- Utilize learning technology tools to facilitate interactive instruction and enhance student engagement during both in-person and online sessions.
- Support students’ social-emotional development by fostering positive relationships, encouraging participation, and managing classroom behavior effectively.
- Adapt instructional approaches to meet the needs of students from diverse cultural backgrounds and those requiring special education accommodations.
- Maintain a safe, organized environment that promotes active learning, classroom management, and respect among all participants.
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with children or in an educational setting is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for teaching is essential.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain concepts clearly and motivate students.
- Knowledge of curriculum development, lesson planning, and instructional adaptability across different age groups.
- Familiarity with learning technology platforms and online instruction methods.
- Ability to recognize different learning styles and modify teaching strategies accordingly.
- Experience tutoring in subjects such as mathematics, science, or English language arts is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with students from diverse backgrounds including early childhood or preschool settings.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in record keeping and progress tracking.
