As a Rec Dispensary Supervisor you’ll lead our frontline retail team, ensuring every guest receives knowledgeable, compliant, and polished service while supporting a culture of continuous improvement and innovation. You’ll coach and develop budtenders, manage daily store operations (sales floor, cash handling, inventory, and compliance), drive customer satisfaction, and partner with leadership to maintain product integrity and merchandising that reflects Altius’ commitment to excellence.
Key responsibilities include supervising and training staff, overseeing opening/closing and cash procedures, enforcing state and local cannabis regulations, executing inventory and cycle counts, resolving customer issues, maintaining merchandising and product quality standards, assisting with scheduling and performance feedback, and supporting SOP updates and loss-prevention efforts.

Required skills
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Minimum 2 years retail experience with at least 1 year in a supervisory or lead role (preferably in cannabis or regulated retail)
- Strong knowledge of cannabis products, consumption methods, and basic dosing principles
- Thorough understanding of state and local cannabis compliance requirements and ability to enforce policies on the sales floor
- Proven cash handling and POS experience with accurate register reconciliation
- Inventory management experience including cycle counts and discrepancy resolution
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to de-escalate conflicts and resolve complaints professionally
- Clear verbal and written communication skills and ability to coach and mentor staff
- Solid numeracy and basic computer skills (POS, scheduling tools, spreadsheets)
- Flexible availability including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs as needed
Desired skills
- Prior cannabis dispensary experience (budtender, inventory, or compliance roles)
- Familiarity with METRC or other seed-to-sale tracking systems
- Experience using scheduling and workforce management software
- Retail merchandising and visual display experience that reflects premium brand standards
- Supervisory training, conflict resolution, or leadership certifications
- Bilingual skills (Spanish or other) to better serve diverse communities
- Passion for product quality, innovation, and continuous process improvement
