Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate, motivated Certified Peer Support Specialist (Part-Time) to empower individuals on their recovery journey. In this role, you’ll draw from your own lived experience to offer empathy, advocacy, and guidance while working alongside a dynamic, multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities
- Client Engagement: Proactively connect with clients 3–5 days/week during their first 90 days of treatment (phone or in-person) to encourage retention and build rapport.
- Direct Support: Provide 12–15 hours per week of direct peer support, assisting clients with personalized recovery plans, life skills, and navigation of community resources (housing, transport, healthcare).
- Clinic Presence: Maintain an accessible, welcoming presence around the clinic reception area to engage patients upon arrival.
- Crisis & Skill Building: Model constructive problem-solving, offer crisis support as needed, and help clients build individual safety plans.
- Documentation & Compliance: Complete same-day charting in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) while strictly adhering to HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 privacy guidelines.
- Team Collaboration: Participate in clinical staff meetings, supervision sessions, and ongoing professional development.
Rotating between our Salt Lake Clinic and Murray clinic is required.
Qualifications
- Certification: Valid Utah Certified Peer Support Specialist (CPSS) credential required.
- Experience: 1+ years working in addiction recovery/behavioral health and working with vulnerable populations.
- Lived Experience: Personal lived experience with mental health or substance use recovery (minimum 2 years of continuous sobriety if in recovery).
- Tech Skills: Comfortable with standard computer use (G-Suite, typing) and learning EHR/billing software.
- Clearance: Ability to pass and maintain a Bureau of Criminal Identification (BCI) background check.
- Core Competencies: Strong non-judgmental communication, active listening, crisis management skills, and a commitment to team collaboration.

Pay: $19.00 - $24.00 per hour
