Schedule: Mon-Fri 7:30am-4:00pm, 30 min unpaid lunch
Overtime: Required as requested by management
Probationary Period: 90 Days

Summary Description
S3 Maritime is seeking an experienced Maritime Hydraulic & Stabilization Technician to join our growing team. We are a leading marine service provider in the Greater Seattle Area, delivering high-quality repair, maintenance, and refit solutions for commercial and recreational vessels.
This position focuses on the inspection, service, troubleshooting, and installation of marine hydraulic systems and vessel stabilization equipment, supporting systems critical to vessel safety, performance, and comfort. Technicians will work on a wide range of equipment, including active and passive stabilization systems, steering hydraulics, power packs, and auxiliary hydraulic components.
Core Responsibilities
- Preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and troubleshooting of marine hydraulic systems
- Service, repair, and commissioning of vessel stabilization systems (active and passive)
- Hydraulic pump, motor, valve, manifold, and actuator service and replacement
- Steering system inspection, bleeding, repair, and alignment
- Hydraulic hose fabrication, routing, and pressure testing
- Hydraulic fluid management, filtration service, and contamination control
- Cooler, heat exchanger, and reservoir service related to hydraulic systems
- Integration of hydraulic systems with electrical, mechanical, and control interfaces
- Support vessel refit and upgrade projects involving motion-control or load-handling systems
Marine industry experience is preferred but not required. Candidates with strong backgrounds in hydraulics, heavy equipment, industrial systems, or mechanical systems integration are encouraged to apply.

Skills & Knowledge Requirements
- Strong working knowledge of hydraulic theory, components, and system design
- Proficiency with hydraulic diagnostic tools, pressure testing, and flow analysis
- Ability to diagnose system failures and determine repair vs. replacement strategies
- Experience handling hydraulic fluids, hazmat procedures, and environmental controls
- Familiarity with stabilization systems, steering hydraulics, and power units
- Ability to fabricate and install hydraulic hoses and fittings to industry standards
- Understanding of cooling, filtration, and contamination-control best practices
- Ability to produce detailed parts lists and maintain accurate service records
- Familiarity with system commissioning and post-installation testing
- Leadership capability to support or guide small project teams as needed
Daily Duties & Working Conditions
- Use ERP software to track assigned work orders and job progress
- Accurately document labor, materials, system findings, and project updates
- Maintain detailed job costing and service documentation
- Communicate clearly and professionally with team members, management, and clients
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Participate in material purchasing, inventory control, and parts staging
- Adhere to safety policies, environmental compliance, and quality standards
