Join our Team as a Marketing & Communications Coordinator (Part-Time)
20 hours/week | $28.91–$32.11/hour | Novato, CA
Remote hours may be considered after a period of time
Marin Humane is seeking a creative, organized, and enthusiastic Marketing & Communications Coordinator to join our small but mighty MarCom team. This position blends storytelling with day-to-day details — from photographing a puppy to prepping a print order to tracking down an invoice. We're looking for an organized self-starter who can bring our animals and mission to life across print, digital, and social, while keeping the department running smoothly behind the scenes. If you enjoy variety, love a good spreadsheet, and don't mind sharing your workspace with the occasional wagging tail, we'd love to meet you.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain hands-on experience in nonprofit marketing while helping transform lives through exceptional animal care, humane education, and advocacy.
What You'll Do
No two days are the same! You'll help make lives (human and animal) happy by:
-
Creating flyers, posters, signage, social media graphics, and other marketing materials using Canva and other design tools.
- Photographing and filming our amazing animals, staff, and events to share across our website and social media channels.
- Assisting with social media content and community outreach initiatives.
- Coordinating print projects and maintaining our growing library of marketing assets.
- Providing valuable administrative support, including budget tracking, supply ordering, and maintaining organized department files.
We're Looking for Someone Who Is
-
Organized and able to juggle multiple projects at once.
- Creative with a strong eye for design and detail.
- A proactive self-starter who enjoys both creative and administrative work.
- Comfortable using Canva or similar graphic design software.
- A strong communicator who enjoys collaborating with others.
- Passionate about animals and inspired by Marin Humane's mission.
A bachelor's degree (or progress toward one) in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field, along with at least one year of relevant experience—or an equivalent combination of education and experience—is preferred.
