Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented CNC Programmer to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, testing, and optimizing computer numerical control (CNC) programs that drive precision machining operations. Your expertise will ensure that parts are manufactured efficiently, accurately, and to the highest quality standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to innovative projects and advance your career in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.
Duties
- Develop and write CNC programs for various machining equipment including CNC milling machines and CNC lathes using CAM programming software.
- Interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and blueprints to determine machining requirements and specifications.
- Utilize CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or CATIA to create or modify part models and tooling designs.
- Set up CNC machines by selecting appropriate tooling, fixtures, and parameters based on job specifications.
- Conduct precision measurements using bore gauges, calipers, micrometers, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other precision measuring instruments to ensure parts meet strict tolerances.
- Optimize manufacturing processes through lean manufacturing principles to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance quality.
- Troubleshoot machining issues related to geometry, tooling, or machine operation; adjust programs accordingly for continuous improvement.
- Maintain detailed documentation of programs, setups, inspections, and process changes for quality control and compliance purposes.
Requirements
- Proven experience in CNC programming for milling machines and lathes with proficiency in Fanuc controls.
- Strong knowledge of CAD/CAM software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA, or similar tools for designing and programming parts.
- Familiarity with blueprint reading, schematics, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and technical drawings.
- Mechanical knowledge of tooling selection, electrical discharge machining (EDM), and machining processes.
- Ability to interpret mathematical data including geometry calculations necessary for precise machining operations.
- Experience working with manufacturing environments that emphasize lean principles for continuous improvement.
- Knowledge of precision measuring instruments such as bore gauges, calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM).
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot issues related to geometry accuracy or machine performance.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with engineers and machinists. Join us as a CNC Programmer where your technical expertise will directly impact the quality and efficiency of our manufacturing processes!
