Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Orthodontic Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and assisting orthodontists in delivering high-quality treatment. This position requires a compassionate individual who is eager to support both pediatric and adult patients throughout their orthodontic journey.
Duties
- Assist orthodontists during procedures by preparing instruments and materials.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and the importance of maintaining their orthodontic appliances.
- Manage patient records, including medical history and treatment plans, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment in compliance with infection control protocols.
- Utilize 3D scanners for imaging and assist in the creation of custom orthodontic devices.
- Schedule appointments and follow up with patients regarding their treatment progress.
- Collaborate with the dental team to ensure seamless patient care.
Skills
- Proficiency in medical terminology, dental terminology, and infection control practices.
- Experience with pediatric dentistry is preferred, along with familiarity with medical coding and imaging techniques.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages.
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Knowledge of dental clinic operations and experience assisting in clinical settings is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with 3D scanning technology is a plus, enhancing the ability to provide advanced orthodontic care.
