Job Description
You'll own the electrical side of the company's custom data-center cooling units — designing them on paper, getting them built, and proving they work and pass safety certification. Day to day that means:
-
Design and document the electrical guts of the equipment — the control panels, power distribution, and wiring harnesses — for the company's data-center HVAC products. You'll create the schematics, single-line diagrams, and bills of materials (BOMs) in SolidWorks Electrical.
-
Keep everything code-compliant and safe. Apply and interpret the National Electrical Code (NEC) and make sure designs meet UL 60335-2-40 requirements for safety and performance.
-
Make the electrical play nicely with everything else. Integrate the electrical and control systems with the mechanical and refrigerant subsystems so the unit works as a whole, not just on paper.
-
Be hands-on through build and test. Support prototype builds, verification testing, and field evaluations.
-
Work across the aisle. Collaborate closely with controls, mechanical, and manufacturing engineers to protect design intent and serviceability.
-
Bake in reliability and safety up front. Contribute to risk assessments, DFMEA, and product safety reviews.
-
Keep the paperwork airtight. Maintain configuration control of electrical drawings, ECOs (engineering change orders), and documentation.
