Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced, organized, and motivated Packaging Manager to oversee daily packaging operations within our cannabis processing lab. This individual will lead and support the packaging team while ensuring all products are packaged accurately, efficiently, and in full compliance with company SOPs, CGMP standards, FDA guidelines, and state cannabis regulations.
The ideal candidate is a strong leader with experience in manufacturing or packaging environments, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to motivate a team while maintaining productivity, accountability, and product quality. This role requires hands-on involvement in packaging operations, inventory management, equipment oversight, and staff development.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee all day-to-day packaging operations and personnel.
- Train, supervise, and evaluate packaging staff to ensure efficiency, consistency, and compliance with SOPs.
- Maintain accountability for packaging accuracy, including labeling, tamper seals, COA placement, child-resistant packaging, and product counts.
- Ensure all packaged products comply with state cannabis regulations, CGMP standards, and internal quality standards.
- Monitor production schedules and coordinate workflow to meet daily and weekly production goals.
- Identify and troubleshoot packaging errors, equipment issues, or workflow inefficiencies.
- Conduct routine quality inspections and implement corrective actions when needed.
- Maintain accurate inventory tracking of packaging materials, finished goods, and supplies.
- Coordinate with compliance, production, and management teams to prioritize packaging needs and deadlines.
- Ensure all packaging machinery and tools are properly maintained and operated safely.
- Develop and improve SOPs and organizational systems to increase efficiency and reduce errors.
- Foster a positive, accountable, and team-oriented work environment.
- Assist with packaging operations directly when necessary to support team productivity.
Requirements
- Previous leadership or management experience in manufacturing, packaging, warehouse, or production environments preferred.
- Experience in the cannabis industry is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of packaging compliance, labeling requirements, and quality assurance practices.
- Familiarity with CGMP guidelines, FDA regulations, and regulated manufacturing environments.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong communication and leadership abilities with experience motivating teams.
- Ability to identify inefficiencies and implement process improvements.
- Comfortable operating and learning packaging machinery and production equipment.
- Experience with inventory tracking and data management systems preferred.
- Mechanical troubleshooting skills are a plus.
- Ability to lift packages, stand for extended periods, and work in a fast-paced production environment.
- Forklift experience or certification is a plus.

Pay: $16.00 - $22.00 per hour
