Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics using advanced automotive diagnostic tools to identify issues across various vehicle systems.
- Repair and maintain powertrain components, including engines, transmissions, and drive axles, ensuring vehicles operate smoothly and efficiently.
- Conduct vehicle suspension system repairs and alignments to optimize handling and safety standards.
- Interpret automotive wiring diagrams accurately to troubleshoot electrical systems such as automotive electrical systems, ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), and other electronic modules.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other mechanical devices to execute repairs with precision.
- Service vehicles by performing routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, brake replacements, tire rotations, and fluid checks.
- Collaborate with team members to estimate repair costs accurately and communicate effectively with customers about necessary repairs and maintenance recommendations.
Experience
- Proven dealership or service technician experience with a strong background in automotive repair and diagnostics.
- Familiarity with schematics interpretation, automotive electrical systems, and vehicle wiring diagrams.
- Hands-on experience working on GM vehicles or similar makes is preferred but not mandatory.
- Knowledge of diesel engine repair, vehicle transmission system repair, and vehicle suspension system repair is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to use automotive diagnostic tools effectively along with a solid understanding of powertrain components and vehicle systems.
- Mechanical knowledge complemented by experience in vehicle maintenance, auto estimating, welding, and the use of hand tools and power tools.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to explain technical issues clearly while maintaining professionalism in all interactions.
