Compensation Data
The pay rate for this position is $22.25 per hour. Under the direction of the Sanitation Supervisor, the Sanitation Lead coordinates activities related to cleaning and monitoring the hygienic conditions of the manufacturing environment. This role plays a critical part in ensuring food safety, compliance, and overall plant cleanliness.

Where You'll WorkOur Rochester, MN location is part of our Applied Health and Nutrition Division, specializing in fermented ingredients for the bio-science industry. We’re proud of our clean-label, natural products and our commitment to freshness and quality.What You'll Do
As a Sanitation Tech, you’ll:
- Lead and perform detailed cleaning activities on specialized production and packaging equipment (fermenters, blend tanks, dryers, evaporators, sifters)
- Understand and safely handle all site chemicals, including proper usage, PPE, dilution, and titration procedures
- Operate foamers, pressure washers, hose stations, and floor scrubbers efficiently and safely
- Perform and assist in COP (Clean-Out-of-Place) procedures, including assembling, disassembling, troubleshooting, and cleaning equipment like valve blocks and pumps
- Clean and sanitize steps, railings, landings, ledges, lights, floors, walls, tank exteriors, and overhead pipes
- Operate stepladders, skyjacks, scaffolding, and apparatuses in adherence with site safety standards
- Complete cleaning activities according to the Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS) and follow Good Documentation Practices
- Operate CIP (Clean-In-Place) systems to clean and sanitize production assets; maintain barrels of chemicals for production and sanitation use
- Support snow removal and trash pickup as needed
What You'll Need To Succeed
What you'll need to be successful and safe:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum one year of experience in a food manufacturing environment with an emphasis in sanitation
- Ability to work independently and cross-functionally with production and maintenance teams
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to provide logical solutions
- Commitment to maintaining hygienic production standards and following sanitation protocols
