Located near Wood River Junction, RI, this role focuses on making a meaningful impact in one school for the duration of the academic year, with a start date as soon as possible and running through the end of the school year.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid RI Department of Education certification as an All Grades Special Education - Severe Intellectual Disabilities Teacher
- Proven experience supporting students with severe or profound disabilities—elementary level preferred
- Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation
- Ability to collaborate effectively with school staff and related service providers
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive learning environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored instruction and interventions to meet the needs of students with significant intellectual disabilities
- Develop, implement, and review Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Track student progress and regularly update documentation in compliance with district and state requirements
- Work closely with families, support staff, and other educators to develop comprehensive support plans
- Adapt curriculum and learning materials for diverse learner needs
