Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Barista Shift Leader to join our Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii team. This leadership role is ideal for individuals with a passion for coffee, excellent customer service skills, and experience in food and beverage operations. As a Shift Leader, you will oversee daily operations, support team members, and ensure an exceptional customer experience. Responsibilities
- Lead and motivate the café team during your shift to ensure smooth operations and high-quality service
- Prepare and serve coffee beverages, food items, and other menu offerings with attention to quality standards
- Manage cash handling, POS transactions using Aloha POS and Micros POS systems accurately and efficiently
- Oversee food safety practices, proper food handling, and cleanliness in accordance with health regulations
- Assist in training new team members on food preparation, serving techniques, POS systems, and customer service standards
- Maintain inventory levels, restock supplies, and communicate supply needs to management
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly to ensure satisfaction
- Support sales goals through upselling and promoting menu items
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and cleanliness standards throughout the shift
- Manage time effectively to prioritize tasks during busy periods
Qualifications
- Previous barista experience with knowledge of coffee preparation techniques
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Toast POS
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly, professional demeanor
- Proven leadership ability or supervisory experience in a food service or retail environment
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently
- Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math, and sales transactions
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Flexibility to work varied shifts including weekends or holidays as needed
