Duties
- Assist with animal restraint, handling, and pet care to ensure safe and stress-free procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness of treatment areas, kennels, and surgical suites through thorough cleaning and sanitation practices.
- Record accurate medical information, treatment notes, and client details to ensure comprehensive record keeping.
- Communicate effectively with clients about pet care instructions, treatment plans, and follow-up needs. Educate clients on nutrition, vaccine protocols, preventatives, and more.
- Support front desk operations by managing appointments, answering client inquiries, and assisting with client communication.
- Willingness to guide, mentor, and support fellow team members
- Constantly advance your knowledgebase and skill set
- Support veterinarians to ensure exceptional veterinary care during preventative, injury and illness visits
- Advocate for patients
- Assist with setting up patient procedures, and surgical instrument and equipment care.
- Obtaining blood, urine, and other samples for laboratory tests
- Performing laboratory procedures to complete in-house blood chemistry and hematology, complete urinalysis, cytology of skin and ears, snap tests, as well as processing and submitting samples to an outside lab
- Caring for hospitalized and critically ill patients: monitoring vital signs, administering medications and IV fluids, and more.
- Set up and perform radiographs
Skills
- Prior kennel experience or veterinary clinic experience demonstrating familiarity with animal handling and husbandry.
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and behavior to assist in clinical procedures.
- Experience with dog handling or other specialized animal handling skills is a plus.
- Proficiency in cleaning protocols and use of personal protective equipment (PPE) to ensure safety for staff and animals.
- Ability to perform basic veterinary tasks such as medication administration, record keeping, and assisting during surgeries.
- Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and team collaboration.
- Demonstrated commitment to animal welfare and understanding of veterinary critical care practices.
Schedule:
- Four – 10-hour shifts; Monday – Friday
- A consistent schedule with a dedicated day off during the week
- No boarding or grooming

Pay: $17.00 - $21.00 per hour
